The Scrumptious Pantry: Canning for Newbies

Radishes! Garlic scapes! Asparagus! This is the season, the fresh bounty of spring is hitting the markets and gardens again. Join this intro class on canning to learn to preserve your favorite spring veggies - and how to use them in your meals.
Tickets are $25 and include a $10 coupon to use on Scrumptious Pantry products.
Class taught by Lee Greene. Her passion is her job, as the owner of The Scrumptious Pantry, she is preserving regional goodness in jars and bottles and making it available to eaters nationwide. Nothing makes Lee happier than a bubbling pot of water with jars dancing in it!

Worm Bin Workshop

Seasonal Produce Cooking Class - Rhubarb

Peter Koury is a multi media specialist with and incredible talent and eye for images. Peter was born and raised in the Green Bay area. Peter works in a vast variety of mediums from Realism - Abstract and everything in between. Peter not only does canvas work but has extensive experience with murals, faux painting and wall treatments. Opening Day Celebration & 6th Annual BBQ Cook-off

This events marks our transition to being open 4 days a week. The event features great local music and entertainment, MAM Kohl's Color Wheels, face-painting, and more.
Plus, we'll anoint Milwaukee's newest BBQ King or Queen at Local pit-masters face off in two categories: pork ribs & chicken. A panel of celebrity judges determine the winner.
Market open from 7am-3 pm; Opening Day festivities from 9am-1 pm. All events are free and open to the public.

Whole Hog Butchering Class - July 19th

Thinking about getting your own whole or half hog from a farmer someday but just overwhelmed with so much pig? Or maybe you're a big foodie and curious about exactly where all the wonderful cuts of pork come from?
This unique class will be a chance to come to our facility and follow along as Scott Buer and the class turn a whole pasture-raised heirloom hog into finished cuts ready for the table. Plenty of hands-on cutting time in involved for anyone interested.
And where does all the pork go at the end of class? Home with the students, naturally!

Fondy Farm Feast

Celebrate food and community at the 2nd Annual Fondy Farm Feast on Sunday, August 25th, 2013 from 3:30 pm to dusk. Milwaukee’s finest farm-to-table chefs will create a fabulous, multi-course harvest dinner benefiting Milwaukee’s Fondy Food Center and its two programs: Fondy Farmers Market and Fondy Farm. Tickets are $100 and include dinner, pre-dinner cocktails, tractor-led tours of the farm, and live music by local musicians. The Feast is a sophisticated yet casual event (yes, wear jeans!) held under a large tent at the Fondy Farm in Port Washington, WI, about 40" north of Milwaukee.
