Why You Should Shop Small Every Day

Why You Should Shop Small Every Day

We extend our Thanks to all who came out and supported our small businesses at the 2017 Buy Local Gift Fair.

Thanks to all our sponsors: Indulgence Chocolatiers, James Steeno Gallery, Milwaukee Kayak Company, Stephanie Bartz Photography, Stepping Stone Farms, Float Milwaukee and Bowls Restaurant. Also, Barcelona-Artful Living, City Tins, Indigo Blu Mercantile and Sparrow Collective.

A full list of participating businesses and vendors is HERE. If you were not able to visit them at the 2017 Buy Local Gift Fair, click their web links to support any of these businesses online, on Small Business Saturday or at their next holiday fair.

You can continue to support #LocalBusiness by shopping local for Small Business Saturday. The benefits of shopping local are:

  1. Small businesses give back more to the community. When you support a local business, you are also supporting your town, city or neighborhood.
  2. Small businesses make a bigger economic impact. Local businesses reinvest the dollars spent with them through job creations and wages, locally sourcing products and ingredients and charitable giving.
  3. Small businesses provide more personal, hands-on and meaningful customer service.
  4. Small businesses create a sense of community. When you shop local you are likely to get to know a small business owner in your neighborhood.

We are fortunate to have so many neighborhoods and communities in the Greater Milwaukee area that are a destination with many local shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy and that keep our communities unique. Whether it is Bay View, Walker’s Point, The Historic Third Ward, Shorewood, Wauwatosa, Cedarburg and many others, a density of small businesses are a short walk or drive away.

How do you get more involved in the Shop Small movement?

Shop small of course, not just on Small Business Saturday, but every day.
